Acrylic & Oil
Indigenous people observe the behaviour of nature, respect that behaviour and work with it. All non-humans, such as swamps, creeks and rivers have energies that make them unique. These energies are responsible for their well-being and humans should take this into consideration when dealing with the natural environment.

Water path
Acrylic on canvas
36.5in in (93cm) x 24in (61 cm) on framed canvas.
Paddling along a water path is absolute magic. It’s like gliding amongst everything natural and beautiful. Though I know it’s almost impossible to capture this feeling in a painting, I attempted to do just that in this one.

This painting tells the story of a shoal of fishes moving through sweet water with the reflecting sun shining through to the background. I used traditional lined art to tell the story. Please use my Enquiry Page if you would like to make comments/enquire about this work. |

Waterlily covered pond
Oil on Canvas 42in (107cm) x 31in (79cm)
I used my finger and brush in this painting. It is of a pond in the national park of Georgetown, the capital city of Guyana and is a typical case of humans trying to make nature into what they wish, with nature dictating. This fight can be seen in many living spaces in tropical forested areas.

For me, a pair of macaws symbolises up-beat togetherness. I wanted to reflect this by using bright colours, overall lines and shapes of connectivity. Please use my Enquiry Page if you would like to make comments/enquire about this work. |
